Freshly made Pizza, Wood Burning Oven




I love making fresh pizza and it has much more versatility than given credit for. With various styles of dough to use as a base, the topping choices are endless! I recently held a group cooking lesson, making fresh pizza with a mixed group of Adults and Children, cooking them all on a wood burning stove. The flavour from the naturally burning wood and the high cooking temperature gave the pizzas the most amazing stone baked taste!  I used strong flour and yeast for the dough, rolling it out thinly to give a speedy cooking time. with less than two minutes in the oven when at full heat, it was amazing to see them cook so quickly. The main tip being not to overload them them so everything cooks evenly.
